Zoomo is offering e-bike and e-moped subscription discounts for Uber Eats riders. Couriers can currently get £10 off monthly plans for e-bikes - an offer that is also available to riders from other delivery companies, including Deliveroo. Uber Eats riders can also get 50% off the first month of e-moped hire.
Zoomo and Uber Eats say that through the partnership, they "aim to contribute to London’s sustainable delivery and transport ecosystem".

Electrical Safety First (ESF) earlier this year called on delivery services to take responsibility and liability for the e-bikes operated by their delivery riders. The charity also said that delivery apps should consider providing e-bikes themselves, or running an incentive scheme to encourage their riders to use company-approved vehicles.
The call came after London Fire Brigade spoke to Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats in April in a bid to raise awareness of e-bike charging dangers.

There are similar concerns in the US, where New York City Council recently met with the city's Committee on Consumer Worker Protection to discuss a bill that would require third-party delivery app companies to provide workers access to certified e-bikes and batteries.
Councilman Oswald Feliz announced in September the legislation that would establish safety standards for food delivery services, which would require powered mobility devices operated by delivery workers on behalf of third-party delivery or courier services to meet local standards.

“We're excited to work closely with Uber Eats, growing our partnership and leading the charge toward a brighter, eco-conscious future, all while empowering valued couriers. It's a win-win-win partnership: for the environment, for our riders, and for Zoomo.”
