SUPER73 are the epitome of Californian e-bike cool if their celebrity following is anything to go by, and they have managed to combine image with financial clout too, as we reported back in 2021. Since then they appear to have gone from strength to strength, especially so in Europe where sales have leapt ahead of those in their US homeland.
The latest development sees the launch of the all-new Adventure Series with the addition of standard front suspension across the entire line and selected models boasting fully adjustable front and rear suspension. Whilst these clearly aren't premium e-MTB capable e-bikes, they are designed to, "make riding more fun when exploring the outdoors with family and friends" according to SUPER73.
Each SUPER73 Adventure Series model comes with more robust SUPER73 GRZLY tyres, an extended performance seat with gripper vinyl for added comfort, a headlight and rear light, mudguards, and the relocation of the battery to the down tube for the S and R models giving them a lower centre of gravity for better handling. SUPER73 has also implemented the eight-speed cassette as a standard feature on all SUPER73 Adventure Series bikes.
Note that US spec versions have a throttle in keeping with SUPER73's motorbike image whilst the EU spec versions don't, complying to the EU/UK 15.5mph pedelec regime. Also note the SUPER73 website only advertises availability of EU versions for Benelux countries and with no news when they will be available to order
The three new model lines are:
SUPER73 Z Adventure - starting at €3,599 MSRP
Standout features are a new front suspension fork and hydraulic brakes. Within this new model range SUPER73 debuts its satin colours, including Panthro Blue, Sandstorm and two special edition colors: Corsetti and Snowshadow.
SUPER73 S Adventure – starting at €4,399 MSRP
Comes equipped with an off-road style front and rear fender, along with a relocated battery on the down tube of the frame and extended seat, providing a more bold design. Colour choice as for the Z model.
SUPER73 R Adventure – Starting at €5,399 MSRP
SUPER73’s 'flagship' Adventure Series model features everything found on the Z and S models as standard with the addition of fully adjustable front and rear suspension. Colour choice as above.
Other recent announcements from SUPER73 include the K1D lineup of kids' electric balance bikes wit throttle control up a max of 16mph (parent-locked at the upper speed level).
This appears to be a US only launch, priced at $1,295. Shipping will begin in June.
SUPER73 have also announced details of the C1X, an electric motorbike that claims to charge from 10% to 80% in only 15 minutes and give 70 miles of range.
Production units of this one are slated for 2024.
