Two BBC journalists have unveiled the Bike Bureau, an electric cargo bike that is being used as a mobile broadcast studio and office.
Kate Vandy and Anna Holligan have spent the last few years working on building the mobile studio, which is kitted out to offer solo-operated and solar-powered TV and radio lives. It's also used for newsgathering tasks.
Since switching from car to bike two years ago, Holligan, who is a foreign correspondent for the BBC, has already racked up 10,000 kilometres on her bike while working.

But the creators say they believe there is “the potential to do even more,” describing this as, “just phase one". The Netherlands was chosen as the "perfect place" to pilot the project, and the Bike Bureau will be used to, "focus on solutions, and track down positive stories and tech developments that could transform our lives".
It is also hoped the Bike Bureau will help the BBC achieve its goal to "become the greenest broadcaster in the world".

“This is our innovation, a pragmatic and sustainable way to carry out our mobile journalism and we hope you'll find it inspiring,” said the BBC video unveiling the Bike Bureau.
“Using this bike is revolutionising what we can do, how long we can do it for and allows us to take you to the heart of breaking news in a climate conscious way.”
