German bike brand Bergamont has updated its ever-growing e-bike portfolio with plenty of announcements coming out of Eurobike. We saw the E-Cargoville Roof Bike Concept at the show, but the brand has stayed closer to the norm with their production models.
Firstly, the E-Grandurance has been given an updated drive system. It will now come with TQ’s HPR-50 mid-drive system which is near silent and offers maximum torque of 50Nm. This is a change from the previous Fazua system, and means the bike looks a little bit sleeker as there’s no battery cage sticking out from the downtube.
There are two updates to the e-cargo bike category. First is the E-Cargoville LT, which is their more compact all-rounder e-cargo. This now has a lower step-through to make it easier to get on and off the bike, and the battery has been moved to behind the seat tube rather than in the downtube. The E-Cargoville LT will be available from €4,799.
Secondly, the E-Cargoville LJ 70 has seen upgrades to its front-loading box design. According to Bergamont, the LJ EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) Box “sets new standards in terms of safety, usability and design.” This is due to the ability of EPP to absorb energy from impacts. Previous box options were alloy and bamboo, so this is a complete change of materials. It will be available from €5,599 depending on your spec.
Finally, Bergmant has released a new version of the E-Vitess: The E-Vitess Amsterdam. It uses the same technology as the original version, which is a TQ-HPR50 mid-drive system and 360Wh battery. The difference comes in the frame design, which is now step-through rather than step-over. It will be priced from €4,699 for the Sport edition.
