eBike Outlet are offering a sizeable but time-limited (until 6th November) price reduction on their Neodrives/BMZ rear hub motor e-bike conversion kit. Now available from £349 (it was £549 when we reviewed it) it's a high quality kit that combines two renowned German names, with Neodrives making the gearless, high torque rear hub motor system and BMZ the battery.
The kit is available in two versions with the choice of a 405Wh or 522Wh battery with respective offer prices of £349 and £399 using discount codes EOY349 and EOY-399.
The original price of the smaller battery option was £549, having initially been listed at £1,199.
eBike Outlet says it pays to warehouse inventory over the winter, but "with such low stock left, we decided instead of paying them, we'll pass the savings onto you."
What you actually get makes this very impressive value indeed:
- Torque-sensing Neodrive hub motor, a 250W high torque motor with 750W peak, ready mounted in a 26" or 27.5" rim
- Rear rack mounted BMZ battery (detaches for charging, rack included)
- Detachable LCD display
- Fast charger
We reviewed the conversion kit back in March, taking up eBike Oulet's suggestion that it was suitable for mountain bike conversions and we were hugely impressed.
We found, "it slotted straight into the frame like a dream" whilst performance was "class-leading in terms of its hill climbing and also returned a very respectable range..."
Our only caveats in recommending it were the restricted choice of rim size, the heavy weight and the fact it needs to be very well secured into the dropouts to stop any risk of it twisting out of the frame.
