LeMond bikes has expanded its Prolog range of electric bikes with the announcement of the All-Road. Weighing a claimed 12.7kg, the new carbon fibre bike takes aim at the off-road, or should we say all-road, segment of the e-bike market.

It’s the first drop bar version of the Prolog, a bike we continue to include in buyer’s guides due to its sleekness and impressive design.

The new version keeps all the same features that marked out the original, including the carbon fibre frame (which is the same design as its flat bar equivalent), fork, stem and Shimano GRX gearing – although this can be upgraded to the electronic Di2 drivetrain for an extra $800.

The biggest difference is the drop bars – something that Greg LeMond - yes, the three-time Tour de France winner and mastermind behind the brand - said, “speaks to my heart as a bike racer”.

“It may have been 33 years since I won the coveted yellow jersey, but with the All-Road, I can experience that same blissful feeling of flying and freedom that is only found on two wheels,” he continued.

“I love bikes in all forms, but now that we have this bike with both the pedal assist and the drop bars, I’ve truly fallen in love again.”

Motor wise, you’ve still got the MAHLE M1 rear hub drive system, with a maximum torque rating of 40Nm. Powering this is the 250Wh Panasonic integrated battery, which LeMond estimates will offer between 40 and 70 miles of range.

The rear frame embedded lights are back for the All-Road, and the front light is carefully placed under the stem. One difference between the Prolog and the All-Road Prolog is that the All-Road does not come with mudguards.

To make it all-road worthy, 43mm Panaracer GravelKing tyres are fitted on Token Alloy wheels. The bars are also slightly flared for extra control during descents. There aren’t too many glaring differences between the old Prologs and the All-Road model, but it does bring versatility to an already highly praised range.

There are three sizes on offer, to suit riders between 5ft2in and 6ft6in, and three colour choices: matte blanc, matte noir and matte rosa. You can also add upgrades, including electronic shifting and carbon wheels, for extra.

For our US counterparts, you can pick up the new All-Road for $5,995. Unfortunately for us UK riders, the All-Road is only currently available to our cousins over the Atlantic. The brand has, however, expressed interest in entering the UK market with the bike and, “hope to have a solid entry plan in place by the end of the year.”
