A friend of mine had his TERN GSD stolen recently. It had a tracker.  He told the police and the police attended the property where the tracker was. They knocked on the door and asked the person who answered if the TERN was stored in the back. The person replied no. So the Police left. Apparently they can't force entry. Next day my friend followed the tracker again and found it - minus the bike - in a hedge in a nearby park. So that tracker was well worth it!

We're the bikes marked and registered on Bikeregister.com? If so, does it actually improve the odds?

"30k of bikes but no insurance?"

yes because insurance will cost you between 1/8 and 1/6 of the cost of the bikes you want to insure, and then will try to weasle out of paying if your bikes were not looked to a secure object with vibranium locks.

What I haven't spent in premiums over the last ten years would replace at least one and maybe two of my bikes if they were to be stolen..

I think you're way off on google maps secret_squirrel, it's not on Northway, but on Hurtmore Rd and the bikes were taken over the Hurtmore golf course according to the article. There is a property at the south east corner of the Hurtmore golf course that has a large garden with visible motorbike tracks on satellite imagery.

Hard to believe there's no suspects for this one - firstly not spur of the moment - and significant transport needed for that much stuff.  If my google mappage is accurate it was on a dead end road with lots of high end houses - probably all with CCTV.
