New German e-bike brand Ampler have launched two new models for 2018, the sport Hawk single speed and relaxed multi-gear Bilberry. The Hawk weighs in at just 13.9kg, and both bikes have a 60km range.
Ampler Bikes launched in April 2016 with an Indiegogo campaign , during which Ampler successfully raised $158,000, kickstarting its international operations. The Ampler team consists of cyclists, technologists and engineers, who cleverly designed their own battery and electronics, which are hidden deep within the frame, keeping the looks minimalist. The bikes are sleek and understated wirth no complicated dashboards or thumb levers, making for an authentic and classic look across their range.
At just 13.9kg the Hawk (main image) is a fast, light and sporty aggressive-looking urban commuter, designed with speed and agility in mind. It features a carbon racing fork and a simple and reliable single-speed drivetrain. The integrated electronics and light componentry, create the aggressive feel and looks, which make the riding experience equally exciting. The aluminium frame makes the bike rust-proof and sturdy, while keeping the weight down to a minimum. Prices start from €2190.
The Bilberry (in the video clip above) is considerablty heavier at 17.4kg but has nine gears and is optomised for carrying cargo. The aluminium frame is built to be sturdy and rust-proof, yet keeping the bike light enough to lift and carry. Pirce start from €1990.
